title Stamp arrives for Gwangju Universiade
date 2015.07.31
Untitled Document

Commemorative postage stamps will be issued on June 23 for the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade that will begin on July 3.

There are two different sets: a whole paper set that consists of 16 stamps and a smaller set that has four stamps. A total of 162,500 sets, or 1.4 million stamps, will be issued for the event.

The stamps have four different designs: Nuribi, the official mascot and emblem of the games; the main stadium and soccer; the Asian Culture Complex and rhythmic gymnastics; and, finally, the natural stone rock formations on Mudeungsan Mountain and taekwondo. They are also each marked with the commemorative seal for the games.

The stamps will have no price indicated on them, but will show a maximum weight of 25 grams for the mail to which they are attached. The forever stamps allow people to send mail without any extra charge, as long as the mail doesn't weigh more than that, even if the postage rate rises.
