`The representatives of the contractors` associations in Asia and Western Pacific determined to assist more vigorously in the efforts of their respective countries to promote social progress and to raise the living standards of their people by the initiation of more dynamic programs of economic development. For this purpose, this associations through representatives assembled in the city of Manila on March 10, 1956, agreed to the present Constitution and hereby established an organization to be known as the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contactors` Associations (IFAWPCA). This Association has nine members namely Korea, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan, Republic of China, Vietnam, Australia, Philippines and Malaya. The 5th annual convention of IFAWPCA come to be held in Seoul from September 29 through October 7, 1964 in accordance with the resolution of the 4th Convention held in Japan. This 5th Convention, an epoch-making event providing a road to advancement in the international construction field, will contribute to the improvement of construction technology of our country and to the unity of our efforts to promote the common objectives of national welfare. In order to make publicity of this significant event widely to the public, this Administration issues commemorative stamp on the opening day of the 5th Convention.`
